What is the Flags of Southway Fundraiser?
Beginning in summer of 2023, the Greendale High School Marching Band will be working to bring an increased level of patriotism along Southway in front of Greendale High School by displaying dozens (hundreds?!?!) of American flags on four separate holidays throughout the summer: Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, and September 11th.  GHS Marching Band students will learn proper flag etiquette by displaying flags at dawn and properly storing flags at dusk on each of the four dates.

  • ​Each American flag will be 3 feet x 5 feet, displayed on a ten-foot pole protected by white PVC.
  • A tag will be placed on each flagpole, indicating the donor's name along with a personalized message (in memory of, in honor of, etc.).  Donors may choose to stay anonymous if desired.
  • Residents will be able to drive on Southway and/or walk along the sidewalk to view flags and inscribed tags.

**To be guaranteed a flag for Memorial Day, flags must be purchased no later than Tuesday, May 23.  Any flags purchased after that date may first appear on Flag Day (Wed, June 14).

  • I'm in!  How do I purchase a flag?
    • Simply click on the blue "BUY" button on the left.  This will walk you through the process, including the option for your message/dedication and selecting a student fundraising recipient (if desired).
  • I missed the first round but I still want to participate!  Do I still have to pay the $50?
    • Since this doubles as a fundraiser to help out our students, the price will remain $50 for the time being.  
  • What if it rains?
    • The flags are weather-proof and will be displayed "sun up to sun down" on each holiday.
